Hitman 3 Chongqing map revealed

When will Hitman 3 release to Steam?

IO Interactive has announced another new map and more details for Hitman 3. The game is coming soon, and getting some very intriguing elements that make it an all-new experience.

The game will continue the trend of gameplay style from the more recent revamps of the franchise. Players will encounter various missions and assassination targets within an overarching story of the iconic Agent 47. As part of the new game, players will be taken to entirely new locales. One of those has just been revealed in a new trailer for Hitman 3.

In that new trailer, we get an entirely new map with fresh stuff to do. The new location is Chongqing, a city in South Western China. The city is one of the biggest in the world, and is a rather interesting locale from a cultural and economic standpoint. The version in the game will be much more moody and rain-soaked. Thanks to the new Glacier engine that IO is making, the game is really going to shine in that grimy urban sort of way. This will open the way for much improved AI and animation.

Along with an improved visual flair, the density of NPCs is getting improved as well. There will be as many as 300 NPCs on-screen at once in some places. The next-gen ports of the title will also have full HDR support, as well as running at 4K and 60FPS.

Hitman 3 will launch on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on January 20 with a Cloud Version set to release on Nintendo Switch at some point later.

With the team at IO Interactive also working on a new James Bond game, Project 007, they’re going to be pretty busy throughout 2021. That new bond game was just announced this month, and has a pretty cool teaser, which you can check out below. The story of the game is being called “the very first James Bond origin story.” So get ready to learn about the true canonical birth of the super spy.
