Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice to get retail release on PS4 and Xbox One

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Physical Release for PS4 and Xbox One

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, the dark and disturbing action game from Ninja Theory, is getting a full retail release. Today, we learned that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will be getting a retail release on December 4.

The game takes Senua on a gritty and deeply depressing journey of introspection, and is touted as an incredibly deep and thorough examination of trauma and mental illness. Since the game launched in August 2017, it’s enjoyed high praise for its interesting mechanics and engrossing story, so it’s cool to see it reach a wider potential audience. The game even won five BAFTAs, including Best British Game, Best Artistic Achievement, Best Game Beyond Entertainment, Best Performer, and Best Audio Achievement.

505 Games is handling the PS4 version, and Microsoft is obvious taking care of the distribution for the Xbox One version. This is a pretty good announcement for those gamers who don’t have access to high-speed or high-bandwidth internet connections, which means downloading large games is an exercise in waiting and frustration.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is currently available digitally on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and of course the physical release will land in stores on December 4th for console versions.
