Hearthstone‘s Ashes of Outland expansion is live This new expansion kicks off Year of the Phoenix, bringing new cards and the like to the already massive card game. Ashes of Outland brings more than 100 new cards with the six-year-old game. In total there are 135 new cards, each with their own touch of Outland within.
Another part of the draw for this patch is the inclusion of the new Demon Hunter class. The Demon Hunter’s Hero Power is Demon Claws, which provides a one-mana, one-turn +1 boost to the hero’s attack. It’s a fairly aggressive class with ties into the hellish theme of the expansion itself. The new keyword that ties into this is the Outcast ability, which allows for some unique effects for the cards positioned in the far-left or far-right positions in your hand in the game. And yes, Illidan Stormrage will be featured heavily as the Hero unit for this class.
The new class is free for all players who complete the free Demon Hunter prologue campaign. This completion will also award 30 new cards across two different sets, a 20-card Demon Hunter Initiate set, and a pre-built Demon Hunter starting deck list.

As part of the Year of the Phoenix season being pushed this time around Blizzard has also unveiled some more plans for their card game. The new Primes and Imprisoned Demons minions will add their own abilities to the pool of new cards and effects as well. These new units will bring new Deathrattle combos that pair well with demon units.
Players who log into Hearthstone between now and June 29 will be given the Kael’thas Sunstrider Legendary minion for free. There is also a new, free solo adventure that will see Illidan Stormrage and his minions fight off the Rusted Legion has been added to the game too. You can even grab a free deck for any one class of your choice if you’re brand new, or it has been a while since you played.
