GWENT: The Witcher Card Game opens full launch with special pack

GWENT: The Witcher Card Game has launched after it’s elongated stint in beta testing, fans finally get their hands on the full experience of The Witcher card game. To celebrate said launch, the devs are handing out goodies to everyone in sight. For starters, everyone who took part in the open beta for the game will get a special user title linked to their account.

In addition, CDPR announced a limited-time special Launch Celebration Pack that players can buy to get a jumpstart on their collections.

The pack can be purchased up to five times on a single account and contains the following items:

  • 24 kegs: With 5 cards per keg, this makes for a total of 120 cards
  • 1 Legendary card: Choose from 3 Legendary cards
  • 500 Meteorite Powder: Perfect for transmuting cards into their Premium animated versions
  • 5 Arena tickets: Gain immediate access to GWENT’s Arena Mode

The developers also launched the Homecoming update for the game today, you can read about that over here. There’s a lot to the update, mostly focusing on revamping gameplay and progression mechanics, as well as redesigning aspects of the UI to make the game easier to understand. The update also includes laying the groundwork for future patches and plans for Gwent.

If you’re brand new to the Gwent game, CD Projekt Red did release a short introductory video explaining the basic idea of gameplay in this particular card game. The gist is, you build an army and smash your opponent.
