Guilty Gear Strive Delayed to June

“Since we have received valuable feedback after the recent Open Beta Test, we would like to make the most of this opportunity to provide the best game possible,” reads the studio’s announcement. The developer points out that need to work on the network side of things, particularly hoping to improve server stability and online lobby access.

Arc System Works has developed quite a reputation with fighting games over the last few years. The studio has managed to turn out some incredibly crisp and accessible fighting games like Dragon Ball FighterZ. So it would be a very bad idea to rush this new game. And frankly, Guilty Gear Strive deserves the love, it’s an amazing game.

The game was originally slated to land on April 9, 2021, and has now been moved to June 11.

“We believe it best to use the extra time to improve the game’s quality and provide a better experience to all our players,” the team wrote. And based on the game’s beta test they’ve been doing a good job making a solid fighting game. The network issues were a major stumbling block and it needs to be fixed.

This is in fact the second time that the game has been delayed. It was already pushed back in May 2020 due to obvious constraints. The problems of working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic caused quite the problem for developers all over the globe. The game got pushed back to 2021, and that recent beta was the first time players had seen the game in months.
