With the release of Season 2 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, the fight continues. Master Chief and co. return to take on more alien foes with some new objectives to complete. More specifically, players just got details about Season 2 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection and how progression and rewards work in the new iteration of the Battle Pass.
Battle Pass systems are in right now, and with the popularity of PC gaming at an all-time high, it makes sense that iconic FPS franchises are getting in on the fun. All the Halo games in the bundle, on both platforms, have now kicked off a revamped Season 2 of that trend. This new season has tons of rewards, a new progression system, and even more ways to earn season points.
Season 2 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection will debut on July 14, alongside Halo 3.
343 Industries has played things pretty tight to the chest. They’re kept in the full unlock path for Season 2 of Halo: The Master Chief Collection‘s Battle Pass pretty secret, but they did release the following details to the media, along with the new trailer above:
Our goal is for players to unlock all the Halo: Reach season items within a reasonable time frame and in far less time than it took to earn them all in Halo: Reach on the 360. With respect to unlocks, we have ensured that Halo: MCC includes all content that was ever playable in Halo: Reach on the 360, including the ones that were previously tied to preorders, limited editions, and limited time grants. We are even digging through the vault to see what else could possibly be offered at a later time.
So it looks like 343 wants things to go a bit smoother and quicker this time around. Players will be able to move through the Battle Pass and unlock new skins and other cosmetics a bit quicker this time. It also seems like players will have a bit more variety and paths to choose from. Previously, it was a linear system where players would be handed unlocks based on the number of season points they earned. This has moved to a more effective and engaging system in season 2. While the season points are still in Season 2, you can choose what you want first.
The pathway for the Battle Pass will off a bundle of unlocks for each tier reached, with players choosing from a handful of rewards. Vehicle skins, armor paints and decals, and so much more are up for grabs.
The fastest way to level up in Halo Reach, or any other future MCC title, is by playing multiplayer. Keep yourself alive and scoring kills. The better you play, the more points you can earn per match. The key to burning through ranks is to get through matches quickly with positive K/D ratios and a good amount of medals. This means stacking up multi-kills and keeping the headshots and melee kills coming. You will also earn some points in other modes, but campaign play doesn’t earn add many compared to multiplayer.
