Grinding Gear Games shows off Fire and Ice weekend sale and some new MTX

Tencent Acquires Grinding Gear Games

Grinding Gear Games is offering a great deal this weekend on some once-exclusive microtransactions in their flagship ARPG. Path of Exile often runs weekend sales like this, offering deep discounts on cosmetic items to deck your characters out with. And now, some older MTX effects are on offer on pretty deep discounts in the new Fire and Ice sale which runs this weekend. GGG is also offering the Fire and Ice mystery box for free during this sale.

What’s the Fire and Ice mystery box you ask? You can take a look at a preview trailer down below that shows some of the cosmetic items up for grabs from this particular loot box. The 2017-2018 Fire and Ice Mystery Box offers some really cool effects, and joins the likes of the Glimmerwood Mystery Box that was launched a while back.

And in addition to this rare chance to grab an older mystery box, something GGG doesn’t offer the chance at often, everyone has the chance to grab a free box if they spend some Points. You can spend as little as five Points on a basic Weta Pet, and get a free Fire and Ice mystery box. So if you want a shot at some cheap MTX, take advantage of this offer over the weekend.

The special promotion will be available until 8 PM PDT on 15 April / 05:00 CET on 16 April.

In other news on the cosmetics front, POE fans have plenty more to look forward to. The developer has also just dropped two more armor sets, with some really interesting themes going on. The new Extinction Armor Set and Back Attachment offer a very dreary effect for your avatar, complete with a very interesting mix of gore and natural effects to offers a quite unique look.

Path of Exile is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The game offers a great mix of different gameplay types, with plenty of monsters to slay and loot to pick through. There’s some great reasons to play POE if you’re looking for that ARPG fix. So with some great deals on cosmetic coolness, and lots of free fun, why not give it a try.
