Grand Theft Auto V Is Available On Xbox Game Pass

Xbox Game Pass Adding Dozens of New Games

According to a new briefing from Microsoft, Grand Theft Auto V is now part of the Xbox Game Pass. The game will now be freely on-demand for all Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members. Although it’s important to keep in mind that this is restricted to consoles only, sorry PC gamers.  is one of the big surprises of the current console generation.

Sure the franchise was a monster in terms of sales before it came along, but no entry before Grand Theft Auto V was able to stay relevant for as long as this current one. The game owes some of its success to both a polished and enjoyable singleplayer, but the real meat of the accomplishment lies with the multiplayer. Rockstar has made a mint releasing new content for the online component, aptly named Grand Theft Auto Online.

Grand Theft Auto V has been getting consistent new content in the online mode, nearly every week on average. New vehicles, the long-awaited Heist missions, tons of new smaller missions and side activities, and so much more. The game has been getting a ton of community and modding support as well, helping it to stay relevant. GTA Online especially has been the focus of Rockstar development over the last few months. The newly released Diamond Casino and related Heist missions are a big hit with the online community.

Initially released in 2013, the game was updated for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2014, before finally coming to PC in 2015. Since that time, the game has managed to sell millions of copies and it’s no wonder that Microsoft would bolster their Game Pass offerings with the AAA title. There are already 100+ titles on the service, but some users complain about a lack of “killer apps” that keep players coming back. Maybe GTA 5 can be that killer.

If your interest is piqued and you wan to give Xbox Game Pass a try, you can currently get three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. But you need to be quick as this limited-time offer expires on January 6th.
