Gran Turismo Sport’s July update adds new cars and microtransactions

Gran Turismo Sport surpassed five million players

Sony has just released the July update to Gran Turismo Sport on the PS4. Update version 1.23 introduces  the new Saint-Croix Circuit to the game. There’s also a new bunch of options for driver avatar customization included in this new update as well. So expect things like helmet and driving suit color schemes and decals to change.

The update brings in a new load  vehicles as well. The full list is as follows: the 1991 Mazda 787B, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO CN.3729 GT, the Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car, the 2002 Daihatsu Copen Active Top, the 2015 Honda S660, the 1991 Honda Beat, the 2017 Mercedes-AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+.

The most contentious new aspect of the update comes with the new microtransaction feature which allows players to purchase any car costing less than 2 million Credits directly, via the Playstation Store. Japanese prices for these cars break down to about £2 per car. European users will see this feature in a few days after it goes live in that region on August 2. The option is live in Japan right now.
