God of War sells more than 3 million units in three days, sets sales record

God of War PS4 Sales

BOY! Bring me the sales numbers! Sony has released an amazing game in God of War on PS4, and gamers seem to agree.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced the new God of War title for PlayStation 4 sold 3.1 million copies in the first three says since its release. By the way, this makes God of War the fastest-selling PS4 game so far.

God of War is an amazing title that truly is the rebirth of the franchise for modern times. The developers have taken lessons from games like Dark Souls, The Last of Us and more to craft a wonderfully done hybrid of action, adventure and RPG that has even launched a set of spicy new memes.

There’s so much to love about the game that it’s no wonder that it’s such a hit. And now I’m sitting here hoping that Sony can continue to deliver quality fun in gaming that’s at least on par with this game.

Here’s a victory lap post from Sony Santa Monica Studio head Shannon Studstill:

“I would like to personally thank the millions of fans around the world who decided to embark on Kratos’ latest adventure with us. Your support is truly inspiring, and it’s a reason why we push ourselves every day to go beyond the boundaries of play. I’d also like to thank our Creative Director, Cory Barlog, and Director of Product Development, Yumi Yang and our entire amazing team at Santa Monica Studio. The belief in the game’s vision and the passion for storytelling across the team is undeniable. We look forward to hearing more about how fans are creating new memories of their favorite God of War gameplay moments that will be remembered for a long time.

God of War is now available for PlayStation 4.
