Pokemon Go Battle League

Niantic has kicked off the Pokemon Go Battle League. Rright now, the mode is in preseason play, which the developer will use “to optimize and balance the GO Battle League feature during” testing. The goal here is to not only improve the gameplay experience, but also give players a chance to experience something new in the popular mobile game. After the preseason, there will be multiple League rotations, each with their own requirements and competitive rankings.

This first season of play will begin at the basic tier, the Great League. The preseason will rotate formats to the Ultra League on Monday, February 10, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST.  The Master League will come next and follow on Monday, February 24, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST. The Great League will then come back around again on Monday, March 9, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST.

According to Niantic, the Pokemon Go Battle League is officially in its preseason. This means that players will be able to grab up to five different matches at once in their queue. The battles you win, the more rewards you secure. There will also be premium cosmetics released themed after league events. Finally, in terms of other rewards and tiers, there’s the Premium Tier. Trainers can buy into the Premium Track within the Pokemon Go Battle League to take on higher tier opponents, earning unique rewards along the way.

The Pokemon Go Battle League will of course develop it’s own meta-game, so you strategy geeks out there will have plenty of chances to break the game down and develop the best team strategies.
