Pokemon Sword and Shield have shown off a special new addition to the roster, and he’s a big one, a very big one. Starting December 4th, Pokemon trainers will get some interesting new additions to the Switch game. Pokemon Sword and Shield have already offered up plenty of improvements and new mechanics which fans enjoy. One of the newest, Gigantamaxing and Max Raid Battles, offers players a chance to take on ultra-powerful and massive versions of different roster entries. It’s an entirely new level of challenges, and it’s quite fun. With this new update, it’s about to get even bigger, in a manner of speaking.
The newest Mystery Gift has just been deployed, offering players a cool free reward. The new Gigantamax Snorlax is unlocked once you’re connected online and claim the latest Mystery Gift. Mystery Gifts have been a special reward for dedicated Pokemon players for years now, and seeing them with Gigantamax in Pokemon Sword and Shield is just great. If you’re wondering, the new reward is a Gigantamax Meowth.
Along with the new Mystery Gift comes a game update which includes the new massive Snorlax. Gigantamax Snorlax will appear in Max Raid battles under the same conditions as any other Gigantamax Pokemon.
According to fansite Serebii, the new Snorlax variant will show up immediately and will spawn in any den in the Wild Area until Jan. 5, 2020, But a new Snorlax isn’t the only thing on the docket this week. Another event has pushed out Gigantamax Butterfree as another offering. Gigantamax Butterfree will also spawn until January.
But don’t worry if you miss the event for some reason, there’s a pretty good chance that new events will come in 2020 to replace it.
