Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered has a release date

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered Release Date

The original game told that tale of the first Ghostbusters film, and back in 2009 when it first debuted, gamers and film fans loved it. Not only was it a solid game with fun things to do, but it managed to get all four original Ghostbusters actors: Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, and yes, Bill Murray. That amount of star power alone was enough to cement it as a solid pickup for fans of the films, and so it wasn’t really a surprise that it found early success. The game was even co-written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis.

Now, we’ve been hearing about this remaster for a while now, but the comms have been strangely silent these last few months. Progress has apparently been pretty good though as the game is looking great. The improved visuals and audio work really add to the experience. Fans looking for a fun action-adventure romp may want to check this little title out later this year when it drops into our laps. Just don’t cross the streams, or maybe do, but only if there’s 100 feet of giant marshmallow sailor bounding down the street at you.

As part of the media push for this comedic adventure, Saber Interactive and Mad Dog Games have just pushed out some new gameplay footage. Said teaser shows off the iconic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from the film as a boss fight. Check that gameplay out down below. We now also know when the game will release, and it’s just in time for Halloween.

Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will launch on October 4 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One
