With the explosively popular launch of Genshin Impact, developer MiHoYo is poised to capture the crown of mobile gaming. Gaining more than $245 million in revenue since the western launch, the game has continued to steam ahead and dominate the minds of mobile gamers and JRPG fans alike. The plans for the future reveal a pretty interesting path of updates coming as well. The first major post-launch content patch is set to land with Genshin Impact Version 1.1 this month.
Genshin Impact Version 1.1 is due to land on November 11, 2020. The update for version 1.1 is due to drop for PlayStation 4, PC, and Android/iOS devices. We’re still waiting to hear more news about that Switch port, but nothing has been confirmed yet. Check out the initial trailer for the patch down below.
MiHoYo also dropped teasers for a new character for the update. teasing more new heroes coming in Genshin Impact Version 1.1. Along with the new playable hero, there will be a bunch of other stuff as well. A new reputation system will be added to the game that will track player progress per city, atomizing the gameplay loop a bit, but adding more potential for content on a smaller scale.
5-star characters Childe and Zhongli will lead the charge in terms of new heroes. Childe is a water-based ranged fighter, while Zhongli is a Geo polearm user with a much bigger focus on tanking. Both characters will have utility modes that allow them to swap between offensive and defensive focus. Xinyan and Diona also get added, bringing their own unique elemental styles to the fight.
All this will allow the developer to add in tons of new content like new gameplay mechanics and tools for crafting. Players can also discover new, region-exclusive items and customizations for their parties. This all leads into a new in-game event as well. The new questline will be called the Unreconciled Stars event. This will involve a new banner, new quests and challenges, and more. Players should expect a pretty tough boss fight as well.
