The challenges and new content being added as updates to Genshin Impact are not done yet. It turns out that one more item is coming to the game for the last patch of 2020. Genshin Impact 1.2 is coming later in December 2020. The new patch will release on December 23. The game already has a few different events and quest additions that have been added, and that’s about to improve a bit more.
The AAA open-world JRPG has gotten a few banner events that added new characters, but that’s just one of many new items. Despite all of the controversy surrounding the gacha mechanics and their absurd cost, the game has found a huge amount of success. Now with the launch of Genshin Impact 1.2, the game is getting much bigger.
The developer has revealed new plans for the game are via a brand new trailer to its official YouTube page. The first-ever map expansion for Genshin Impact will arrive with version 1.2, holding within an entirely new region. The developer, MiHoYo has announced that the game will be getting a bunch of other content as well.

The new Dragonspine region holds some new secrets in the southern part of the game world. Players will encounter new enemies and a new boss that poses a much larger threat. The new boss will be set within the quest for a new story, set around a story about a legendary weapon calledThe Festering Desire sword. The story will also introduce a bunch of new loot to collect aside from the main weapon. Expect some interesting boss battles as well.
The final new gameplay addition will introduce the system of Sheer Cold. This status effect is basically a meter that fills as you’re exposed to cold climates, as part of the new Dragonspine region. To counter this, players will have to use new gear and abilities that counteract the blistering cold.
Finally, two new five star characters will join the game’s roster, with Albedo, an alchemist, leading the charge. The second character is called Ganyu and is a cryo-based archer with ranged attacks.
