Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft have been pretty great about putting out more content for Forza Horizon 4. And with the newest update for the racing game, there’s a whole new level to the competition. The new Eliminator Mode is all about putting dozens of racers all against one another, in a unique mixture of racing and battle royale fun.
The Eliminator Mode is pretty brutal, but it’s not unfair. So when you start the mode, all 72 racers are on the same footing. Everyone has the same 1965 Mini Cooper, and competition will become progressively fierce as the match wears on. The goal is to be the last one standing, and to win the final race to become the victor. Although don’t count on things being easy. Your best chance at victory is to hang on for as long as possible. There’s one secret trick to staying in until the later game.
Chase Upgrades
One of the common mistakes new players make in any competitive game is not upgrading gear fast enough. The same is true in the Eliminator Mode. Forza Horizon 4 makes this much more important, as you all start with the same basic Mini Cooper setup. Getting new cars is absolutely vital for the later stages, so always push for more upgrades. By going for as many races as possible, you’re maximizing your chances of encountering a weaker racer.
The fastest way to upgrade your gear is to always take on races. Sure, you might be eliminated if you lose, especially early on. But overall, as long as you can actually drive, you should win more often than not. This means that the risk of loss is worth winning, as it earns you plenty of upgrade cars. When you win a race, you have the option of taking the car the loser drove as a prize, assuming it was an upgrade from your previous ride.
So in most cases you will get a straight upgrade over your previous car, so it’s always a good idea to take as many races as possible.
Hunting Air Drops
Air Drops are a special randomized element in The new Eliminator Mode. These upgrade parts drop anywhere on the map during all points of the game. There’s no rhyme or reason to their spawns to be able to predict where they drop, so don;t expect some cheesy way to get their first. This is one of those elements where map knowledge is king. Knowing the best shortcuts, and being willing to go offroad, is key to getting Air Drops.
