Fortnite releases 20-player teams mode patch

The new Teams of 20 mode is live in Fortnite.

The mode makes a few tweaks to better suit large groups roaming around, like a slightly increased chance of treasure chests and ammo boxes spawning (10% and 5%, respectively). Supply Drops also come in batches of five and have more stuff in ’em. The circle shrinks 6 times rather than 9, and the maximum match length is 23 minutes rather than 25. More specifics can be found here.

Players are broken up into five unified teams, made up of individual squads of four players. Each team member can see all 19 of their mates on the map at all times. The hope with this new mode is that Fortnite games don’t become so one-sided in the later stages, while still having the potential for massive hundred player battles to break out.

Epic has also fixed kill credits for fall damage with this update. So no more weirdness with grenades and falling structures causing a player not to get the credit for a flying kill.

There are also a handful of new Burnout skins for players to purchase as well.
