Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 release date and details

What is the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 start date?

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 brought in another raft of changes and new mechanics to the popular Battle Royale title. There was a complete map overhaul, what with all of the flooding, and a bunch of new areas and gameplay loops to explore. There were also new bosses to take on, new Mythic Weapons and loot, and of course the new Battle Pass.

This has all led to a bunch of hype for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4. So when will the next season begin? Well, we have the answers here courtesy of Epic and their various teases.

When does Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 start?

As of now, Epic has set the launch date for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4 on August 27. That could change though, and it really might. Many previous season launches have been hit with delays for one reason or another. And with the ongoing state of the world right now, it would not be surprising in the least if Epic pushed things back. There have been no announcements to that effect currently.

Will there be a Battle Pass?

Every season so far has had a Battle Pass. This system is the primary means of new challenges to complete and cosmetics to earn for dedicated players. With dozens of rewards to earn, the various tiers offer plenty of options for casual and dedicated players in the game. Epic will likely include new cosmetics and other options with the Season 4 Battle Pass as well.

What will happen in Chapter 2 Season 4?

The story of the game is very fluid and subject to change. This makes a change from season to season, whether it concerns map alterations or other changes, very hard to predict. The lack of concrete information from Epic makes this even harder. We do know that they have been pretty reserved this season with the changes, and will probably ramp things up. Players are expecting some resolution for Ghost versus Shadow storyline, or maybe more details about what the heck is going on with Midas.

We can’t say for sure if any map changes are coming though, although it’s a pretty safe bet so far. Epic has always tried to shake things up.
