Fortnite celebrates Star Wars Day with lightsabers and character skins

Where To Raise Your Banner At A TIE Fighter Crash Site in Fortnite

Epic Games has announced a new custom set of skins and other items for Fortnite. Players will now have three new skins to choose from, as well as different colors of lightsaber to take into battle. The event returns for May the 4th, a day in which Star Wars comes back into prominence annually due to the iconic association with May the Force be with you and Star Wars Day.

These specific skins for the iconic current-gen Star Wars characters have been around in the game before. Epic introduced the Rey, Kylo Ren, and Sith Trooper skins in previous Star Wars events. The update also includes yet another new set of challenges. Players can take a lightsaber into the game and get kills, destroy items and perform other tasks to earn special rewards.

The Rey, Kylo Ren, and Sith Trooper skins are available in the in-game shop, and green, red, blue, or purple lightsabers will be found for a limited time. The challenges found in this update are the same as the ones rolled out to highlight the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. So if you took part in that event, you likely have these items already locked down.

Epic has said that these items and challenges will be a limited-time event, but hasn’t given us an exact end date for the content. A dataminer has suggested that the content will be gone in a few days on May 6. So get in now while you still have the chance.

Fortnite is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, and Android.
