Fortnite: Battle Royale Mobile Surpasses $15 Million in Revenue Since Launch

Fortnite: Battle Royale has achieved a monstrous level of success since the launch of it’s mobile port. According to market researcher site Sensor Tower, Fortnite: Battle Royale is has surpassed $15 million in revenue in less than a month.

That major spike in revenue is a perfect storm of popularity and availability. The newest release added millions in revenue for Epic.

Meanwhile, total worldwide mobile revenue for Fortnite has surpassed $15 million gross, with about $10.5 million paid to Epic Games, in just 20 days since the game began monetizing on March 15. Global installs of the game have topped 11 million since launch. In a single day, Epic pulled in $1.8 million when the game was fully released on iOS and other mobile platforms. The game also holds a spot in the top ten grossing games on iPhone in 23 countries and remains number one in nearly twenty regions.

Not everyone is happy with the success of the Free-to-Play title, some users even started a petition to ban the game outright. The Change.org petition was apparently a joke from the person that started it, and it seems to be incredibly unlikely to succeed. At this time, the petition has slightly less than 1,500 signatures.

As a primary cause for concern, the petition cites a negative impact on social and cognitive development as a result of too much time spent gaming. Which isn’t a claim that’s definitively proven by the way.

However this whole thing turns out, it’s clear that Fortnite will be around for quite a while.

Fortnite is available now on iOS mobile devices and in early access on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
