For Honor’s Marching Fire Launches Today

Ubisoft has released the largest expansion to For Honor in the history of the game with the Marching Fire expansion.

The Marching Fire update introduces a new major faction into the game with the Wu Lin fighters. In total, there are four new heroes added to the roster with this expansion. These ancient Chinese warriors are legendary in their combat ability and ferociousness. Tiandi, Nuxia, Jiang Jun and Shaolin each have their own unique weapon styles and abilities that makes each fighter an interesting challenge to overcome for a rival warrior. All of these heroes will be available upon-launch for those who already own For Honor and will be available two weeks later for 15,000 steel each if you don’t.

In terms of other updates, there have also been adjustments to various gameplay elements and other aspects. The big addon is a new 8-player PvP match type titled “Breach” which pits two teams against each other in a rolling conflict that plays like a combination of King of the Hill and Tower Defense. The UI has also been reworked to display clearer information to the player in certain circumstances. All players will have access to the new “Arcade Mode,” which simulates real battles and is focused on PvE. So get some friends together and get ready to take on hordes of AI enemies, it all seems like pretty good practice.

Since it’s release in 2017, For Honor has cemented itself as a hyper-competitive and violent game with lots of replayability and a complex fighting system. With an expansive roster of fighters, each with their own unique strengths, weaknesses and fighting styles, the game has developed a deeply strategic meta-game around high-end competition. Of course if you want to just hack a fool to pieces, you can do that too.
