The next update for Final Fantasy XIV, version 4.4, is coming soon. The patch will carry the title “Prelude in Violet” and will come in mid-September. This is a pretty big update, so let’s dive in.
Today, during the latest “Letter from the Producer Live” Final Fantasy XIV broadcast on Twitch, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi revealed update 4.4.
Of course, there will be the requisite quest additions and side content as there have always been in large updates like this. New Dungeons, Trials and Raids will be joining the bunch as well.
We’re getting new side quests of the Hildibrand and Four Lords series, alongside Doman Reconstruction quests. Two new instanced dungeons will be implemented: The Burn and the hard version of Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum.
New trials include Suzaku and Suzaku Extreme, and new raids are coming with Omega: Alphascape and its Savage version.
There’s also a new region being added as part of the Eureka quest line. Since Eureka was released in patch 4.25, it’s been pretty popular. Eureka has a unique elemental damage and enemy mechanic that requires players to be very specific and strategic with their actions, it’s pretty fun. It’s been a long way from the initial quest in Rhalgr’s Reach. This update marks the third part of the quest line.
Patch 4.4 will also feature job adjustments and an increase to the number of Role Action slots! For PvP, players will have a new Quick Chat phrase for timed attacks and the ability to adjust PvP-specific HUDs at the Wolves’ Den Pier.
But before any of that lands, we’re still going to get patch 4.36 that introduces the crossover content with Monster Hunter World.
Final Fantasy XIV is currently available for PS4 and PC, and you can snag a copy on Amazon.
