Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered Switch bundle incoming

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered Officially Confirmed

If you a Final Fantasy fan in 2019, you’ve probably been having a great year, and if you’re looking for something to kill time while the FF7 Remake nears releases, Nintendo and Square Enix have some good news for you then. That’s because the companies are teaming up to bring new versions of both Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy 8 Remastered for the Switch to gamers around the globe. OK well, the release is not technically a new version, it’s actually a physical bundle which includes both titles for a reduced overall price. And right now it’s only listed for gamers in Asia and surrounding regions, but Switch versions will support multiple languages, and most notably for Western gamers that includes English.

Back when these remasters were first teased, fans of the iconic RPG franchise got super excited, not just because they would get to enjoy a new trip through some of the best games of the PSX era, but because the many gameplay and visual improvements would allow them to be even more enjoyable.  Players would be able to speed up the infamous grind with a hyperspeed gameplay mode as well, making the monotonous points of the game less annoying. And in addition, the inclusion of different voice over options would allow purist players to get a varied experience too, all in all these remasters have been great.

But now, Square Enix is doubling down so to speak, and offering the two games on the Switch as a bundle, according to reports found online. Square Enix Asia announced the upcoming release via a Facebook post, which can now be seen on PlayAsia. The bundle will retail for $49.99, and will include physical versions of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII Remastered.

As of now, there’s no indication as to whether these remade versions will end up on other platforms, like the PC, but gamers continue to hold out hope that such a release is coming. Also there’s no firm date for release, so it could take a while before we see these physical bundles actually end up in the hands of gamers.

And if you hadn’t known about these remasters, check them out in the trailers down below.
