Farming Drachmae in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

There’s a bunch of resources in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and throughout the course of this sprawling game, you’ll need many of them in large quantities. Problem is, there’s seemingly a lot of work involved in procuring these precious goodies. One of the most important resources is money, or Drachmae.

When you first start the game, you’re not going to have an intense need for money, that will quickly start to change as you get to higher levels and need better gear.

General Tips

Your trips to Blacksmiths are a great source of Drachmae throughout the course of the game. The older weapons and armor you buy or find throughout Assassin’s Creed Odyssey can be sold back for easy gold. Blacksmiths also sell a ton of crafting materials, like Wood.

Exploration is a huge part of the game in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Keeping your eyes peeled for resources and gold spread throughout the game world is a great way to earn some passive income. There are mines, ship wrecks and plenty of other treasure-laden spots spread throughout the game just waiting to be plundered.

Destroying enemy ships is another decent source of money in Odyssey. While cruising through the seas, you will come across enemy ships on several occasions. These ships not only contain rare materials but also chests brimmed with Drachmae.

Loot everything that isn’t nailed down. Many of the junk items can be worth a bit of money, or disassembled for raw resources. Earlier in the game you can use pretty much any advantage, so loot has a lot more value. The later you get into the game, the more discerning you can be. The time saved by not looting everything is made more valuable by focuses in Blue and Purple drops or higher.

Message Board

The Bounties posted on the Message Board are quite literally the best source of currency in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. A lot of these are pretty easy to complete with casual play too, as they focus on killing Athenian or Spartan soldiers, something you’ll probably be doing a lot of. These Bounties all overlap as well. So any objective can be shared between multiple bounties. So the idea here is to stack as many of these quests as you can handle and then play the game with the objectives in mind. Just remember to keep refreshing Bounties to keep them current.

Say you have 5 Bounties each focused on attacking Athenian soldiers and their resources. Attacking a single fort can snag multiple objectives for these kinds of quests very quickly. Before you know it, you’ll be turning in dozens of Bounties for mountains of Drachmae.

Conquest Battles

While the rewards for doing these are smaller than the rewards for stacking Bounties, you’ll trigger tons of these while doing those Bounties, so having multiple layers of income makes the process of farming far quicker. Just go in with the best gear you have and wipe the floor with the weaker enemies for some easy cash.

Forts

These infinitely respawning sites are the best source for kills and loot in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Drachmae will be flowing out of every orifice once you establish a loop of these and keep running them. The item drops can be dismantled for resources or sold for money, either way you should be picking up every drop on most forts. These are also a great source for Bounty kills.
