Fallout 76 is the largest Fallout game ever created, with a map four times larger than Fallout 4. The core gameplay loop, according to Bethesda at E3 2018, is a multiplayer survival RPG which is similar to games like Rust. Each game will be broken up into instanced servers with dozens of player on a single map. If you wanted Fallout 4 multiplayer, this is as close as you’re going to get.
You’ll play in small groups of players that compete with other players or groups for resources and territory. You’ll use a new construction system called CAMP, or the Construction and Mobile Assembly Platform, to create and move various types of structures. You can use your creativity to create everything from bases and traps, to sprawling mazes of insanity. There look to be lots of in-game assets and plenty of visual variety, so the only limit will be player imagination.
Players will also have emotes and skins that they can use during gameplay, this could signal the inclusion of micro-transactions, but that’s purely speculation at this point. The game also includes PvE content and a photo mode for players to enjoy.
Check out some gameplay below, originally from Kotaku. There’s also a longer-form base building trailer down there too. Fallout 76 will be out November 14.
