Maybe you want some looting enchantments to increase rare drops. But sometimes, there’s just not enough death raining down on your foes. Quick Charge in Minecraft is one of many different enchants in the game. This one is fairly new, and it has a very fun effect.
What is Quick Charge in Minecraft?
With the introduction of a crossbow into the vanilla version of the game, there are some new things to play with. You can load a crossbow with either a firework or arrow, and fire it off. It’s a single-shot item, so you need to reload it each time. That takes a lot of time in the heat of battle; as the base reload speed of a crossbow is 1.25 seconds.
You can shorten this time with Quick Charge in Minecraft. This useful enchant can shorten reload time on these items to just 0.5 seconds per shot. You’re basically an arrow machine gun at that point.
How do you get Quick Charge in Minecraft?
Quick Charge I and II come from the typical means of an enchanting table, or from fishing. You can also get the first two levels via books from Dungeon and Stronghold chests, so that’s a viable option too.
Of course, you need an Enchantment Table to make this work. There’s no set way to get the enchantment, as it’s all luck-based. Keep hitting the Enchantment Table until you get the right enchant and you’re good to go. Also, make sure you have the full 15 Bookcases surrounding the table, as that unlocks the full range of enchants. Make sure to have a steady source of both XP and Lapus Lazuli for the table path.
Fishing is another option as well for finding it. Get a Fishing Rod with Mending and a few other enchants on it, and you will golden. Get both the Lure and Luck of the Sea enchantments on the fishing pole to make fishing for rare drops much faster. If you’re after something like the Aqua Affinity book, this is the way to go. This will mean that you get tons of enchant books, alongside the higher likelihood of getting Quick Charge.
Quick Charge III can be acquired through an anvil by merging two crossbows/books that both have Quick Charge II on them. This means you need to get access to two enchanted items, so it may take a lot of work. Sometimes, you can also trade Librarian villagers for it.
