Everything that is entering the Destiny 2 content vault in November

The Destiny 2 content vault was something added because  Destiny 2 is getting too bloated. As the game ages, more and more content is added, and it becomes too much to manage at some point. Other online games have gone through similar revamps, removing or completely retooling old content. Bungie has decided that ahead of the next major expansion, things needed to change.

Some pretty significant changes are afoot. The biggest alteration will come as several planets are removed from the game entirely, at least for the time being. Bungie may bring this older content back at some point, but only after they have had time to redo it all. That means that first off, several destinations are heading into the vault.

• Titan
• Io
• Mars
• Mercury
• Leviathan

We have confirmed that the Vault of Glass will be returning to the game at some point in 2021, and players will also be getting access to Europa and a returning Cosmodrome as replacements for now. Bungie could bring back more, but this is not yet confirmed. We’re also missing confirmation on what happens to all the Exotic quests in these zones, but it’s likely that they will be vaulted or moved to new zones. The first batch of  Raids and other content headed into the vault relates to content that Bungie wants to remove from the game. These quests and zones will be mostly from out-of-date content and story elements that will need to change ahead of Beyond Light. Since the new expansion is changing so much related to gear and progression, Bungie doesn’t want to have to deal with rebalancing a ton of older content that most people won’t play anyway.
