Epic Games releases Battle Breakers as a new heroic battler
Epic Games has just dropped a trailer for their latest game, a new title called Battle Breakers that’s just released. “Monsters from space trapped the world’s greatest Heroes in technomagic crystal. Now it’s up to you to assemble the ultimate team of super warriors and take back your planet,” Epic says in the promotional blurb. But enough waffling, let’s see what this thing is all about.
The core of the gameplay is actually very straightforward, but we can very much expect Epic to embellish on it over time. It’s a standard hero battling title at first glance, but the fun doesn’t stop there. Each of the heroes belongs to a class type that gives them both a similar style to other heroes in their class, but also confers certain in-combat abilities that tie in with their elemental theme. Constructing your team from the myriad choices is a big part of the tactical element of the gameplay, as you have to balance your teams strengths to play well together.
There are literally hundreds of unique heroes to choose from, each one possessing their own unique and strange abilities. Building a team and taking on various challenges, like dungeon-crawling, is the name of the game here. The gameplay is also heavily linked to monetization, so be prepared as this is a free-to-play title. There the $4.99 Battle Pass which includes some free heroes bonuses. Players can also grab new team members via the in-game Hero Store. But the real challenge is the special Skybreaker Quests.
There’s more than 1,000 differnt dungeons in Battle Breakers, each with their own unique technofantasy theme. With plenty of monsters to fight, there’s a lot to do, but the special Skybreaker Quests offer a bit more challenge as they include unique monsters and bosses not found anywhere else.
The developer dropped both a new trailer and some really awesome screenshots to accompany the launch. Battle Breakers is out now for PC and mobile platforms. Watch the launch trailer below. And yes Battle Breakers is available for free on PC via the Epic Games store.
