According to a new announcement and trailer from Frontier Developments, the next chapter of Beyond for Elite: Dangerous is incoming.
Chapter Two introduces a lot of new content in the form of new ships, missions and other interactions. And with the Thargoids still plaguing the galaxy, there’s a lot of work to be done getting humanity up to speed for the inevitable all-out war. So let’s dive in and see what Chapter Two of Beyond will have to offer.
One of the major additions in this update is of course new missions. There are new Brokers, explorable areas and wing missions that will provide players with lots of new content. One type of new content is Station Interactions which will be offered to players through this new set of missions. Similar to Beyond Chapter One’s Megaship interactions, Installation Interactions now let us scan and interact with space installations—be that utilising and/or hacking turrets, comms arrays and cargo bays.
But it’s not just new missions, there’s plenty of new tech and some new ships to play with as well. Elite: Dangerous players can ultimately unlock a massive new ship called the Alliance Challenge. The Alliance Challenger is equipped with stronger armour than the Chieftain, which means it can soak up damage while combating the ever-relentless Thargoid threat.
Check out the trailer for Chapter Two of Elite: Dangerous Beyond below. Elite Dangerous‘ Beyond Chapter Two is due June 28. Expect full details and patch notes at launch. A larger update is headed for the game in Q4 2018, so be on the lookout for that too.
The third Elite Dangerous season continues with the release of its second chapter, featuring new ships, new Thargoid encounters and additional gameplay content. Chapter Three and Chapter Four will launch later this year. The BEYOND season of game updates is FREE for all Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons players.
