Eliminate Caiatl’s Cabal Triumph Guide

Destiny 2

Season of the Chosen is finding new ways to challenge players this week as the next stage of the war begins. Part of this questline involves a new set of Triumphs to complete. For this one to count, you need to deal damage to a handful of named enemies within the latest Proving Grounds strike. The Proving Grounds Strike is called “Eliminate Caiatl’s Cabal”. For this Triumph, you will need to hunt down and kill various named Champions that will appear over the course of the mission.

The Proving Grounds strike is also part of the “Challenger’s Proving VII” quest. So if you’re looking to mop that up, you need to do this. If you don’t own the season pass, then the Proving Grounds strike will become available on March 30. The Strike can be found on Nessus via the Director. Here are what to look out for when doing the new mission this week.

The first area is pretty basic, you’re outside the compound and doing battle with a Colossus. There will be some minor Cabal enemies around as well to take down. Take these folks out and head inside to the area known as the “vehicle bay” by the tank.

Vehicle Bay

Psion snipers and various Cabal swarm this place, so be careful. Clearing out the big batch of reinforcements will cause a couple of Goliath tanks to spawn. These can be pretty nasty, so bring out the big guns. Around the tank spawn, there will also be a handful of named bosses. Taking these out is part of the Triumph. Make sure everyone calls them out and shoots them when they spawn.

There are four enemies to take out in this area, so be sure to keep an eye out for them so you won’t have to double back later. The four enemies found here are:

  • Optus Taxaat
  • Val Cunqu’us
  • Val Kladior
  • Val Trekitus

Maintenance Area

There are two power orbs you need to collect and bring back to the terminal to get through this part. The first is right by the entrance to the area where the terminal is. The other can be found deeper within. The second power orb can be found by jumping across the big gap and nearby to Optus Vocca and his spawn point.

Be careful of the Cabal snipers and other foes. The remaining four enemies to get are located here down where the land tank’s treads can be found. The four enemies to find in this area are:

  • Optus Vocca
  • Val Cempas
  • Val Veorthus
  • Val Vinca’ar

When you need to start collecting power orbs to unlock the deeper parts of the map, that’s when you’re going to need to really pay attention. There are eight total enemies to take down throughout the Trump h and they are spread all over. Look around each map area for any named enemies and call them out. For example, Val Cempas will appear in the area with the first power orb, so be careful when you spot him. He is very weak and can die easily.

Cleaning out the minor bosses and adds will lead you to the boss room. Here you fight Ignovun, Chosen of Caiatl. He has multiple phases and takes a while to kill. Throughout the map, you will need to pay attention and take out all the named bosses aside from him as well to complete the quest to Eliminate Caiatl’s Cabal.

The boss will fire out various homing fireballs that you need to keep track of. These can take a big chunk out of your health if you get caught in them. He also has shielded phases during various parts of the fight. You’ll need to destroy the device to break the shield. During this part is when those fireballs come out. Completing the boss means you have completed Destiny 2: Season of the Chosen‘s Proving Grounds strike
