Techland has just announced a new expansion to their main zombie title, Dying Light. The open-world adventure title takes the previous games from the developer like Dead Island and builds on the core idea. Dying Light is still about survival, but it improves the stakes by throwing parkour into the whole thing. The other bits and bobs like crafting, rare loot and special infected zombies are all there as well.
Dying Light: Bad Blood adds something entirely new though. The original games is all about PvE, where the player is just taking down AI-controlled zombies by the dozen. This expansion will bring in something new. The players once taking on zombies will now be taking on each other in a blended new game mode. The expansion will also adds some new cosmetic options. Because since it’s trying to key into the growing battle royale trends, why not throw in cosmetic skins and the like.
According to statements from Techland:
“Our aim is both to satisfy players’ demands for competitive PvP gameplay and to explore new directions for Dying Light’s multiplayer experience. Since Bad Blood was inspired by fan requests, we want player feedback to be an integral part of our development. That’s why we’re inviting Dying Light fans to take part in our Global Playtest. They can play the expansion early and share their thoughts, knowing their feedback will have a major influence on Bad Blood’s development.”
Dying Light: Bad Blood will be launched as a standalone PvP expansion in 2018. There will be a playtest ahead of the launch of the new mode.
