Dragon Ball Action RPG Project Z Gets First Trailer

Dragon Ball Project Z Announced

Dragon Ball Project Z has now been confirmed courtesy of a new trailer from Bandai Namco. The company also announced the game just a few hours ago, and we know now that it’s a fully 3D action RPG.

The next Dragon Ball game… is an Action RPG set in the universe of “Z”!! The world of Dragon Ball, as nostalgic as ever, depicted in a way you’ve never seen before! Stay tuned for Project Z related news coming soon! There might be an announcement during the Dragon Ball FighterZ world tournament on January 26 and 27?!?

The Z Warriors are coming to battle a new enemy, so expect Goku, Gohan, Krillin and the rest of the DBZ gang to feature in this new RPG. In terms of what the trailer actually shows, there’s quite a bit here. We see quick flashes in a narrated montage of iconic moments from the DBZ source material, and it’s all moments that fans will be clamoring to relive.

There’s the Saiyan Saga and the legendary fight between Goku and Vegeta, followed by the Namek Saga and the struggle against the Ginyu force and Frieza, leading all the way to the amazing moment when Goku first became a Super Saiyan. In other words, this is hopefully going to be the RPG that Dragon Ball fans have wanted for years.

We don’t see in actual battle gameplay yet, so there’s still a lot we don’t know, but it still looks like it could be a godsend for fans. And don’t worry, it’s not a crappy mobile cash-in as Bandai Namco have avoided that nest of pissed off vipers.

Project Z and the associated trailer was announced via Twitter, which you can find below. No release date has been confirmed, but we know that the game is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC but we still do not have an official name for the game. We’ll be sure to update you once we find out more.
