The system requirements for DOOM Eternal leaked this week before Bethesda pulled them down quickly, and gamers are getting ready to do battle with the denizens of Hell. But the new AAA shooter isn’t the only classic FPS getting a rebirth this month. The system requirements for DOOM 64 also released this week. DOOM 64, originally released on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, and will now available for the first time on PC.
The specs suggested do seem a bit weird, given that DOOM 64 is just a PC port of an N64-era rehashing. The 8 GB of RAM is pretty hefty, considering how that’s more than 2,000 times the amount of RAM the N64 had at its disposal. Sure, the new version has 30 different levels and upgraded visuals, but these specs seem like a minor bit of overkill.
