Donut County announces release date with adorable trailer

Donut County

Publisher Annapurna Interactive announced an official Donut County release date alongside a new teaser trailer today. In Donut County, you control a raccoon named BK who has a unique ability with holes and garbage. And if you’re thinking this game is all about doughnut holes, you’d be slightly wrong. Since BK is a raccoon, AKA trash panda, he’s a really good fit for a company that steals trash you see.

Except his first day at work is filled with chaos when the sinkhole generator the company uses goes awry and starts swallowing a lot more than just garbage. Cars, houses, apartment complexes and more are sent into the dark depths in the whimsical new game. Although I imagine that the whole process (or is it hole?) isn’t as charming for those trapped inside.

In Donut County, you must fill ever-expanding sinkholes with all manner of refuse, junk and stuff. And yes, this can include entire towns, as we see in the trailer.

Pricing for Donut County on the stated platforms is as follows:

  • PlayStation 4 ($12.99)
  • Steam ($12.99)
  • GOG ($12.99)
  • Mac App Store ($12.99)
  • iOS App Store ($4.99)

  • Explores negative space by giving players control over a hole in the ground.
  • Combine objects in the hole for surprising effects, solve puzzles by launching them back out, and ruin everyoneʼs day by devouring everything in sight.

If you’ve ever wanted to play a sweet reversed version of Katamari Damacy, this is the game for you.Donut County releases on PC via Steam and GOG  on August 28. The game will also be available for pre-orders August 1 on the Apple App Stores.
