Dirt 5 has a new launch trailer, check it out

DIRT 5 LAUNCH TRAILER RELEASED

Dirt 5 is pulling out all the stops this year. The game is going all-out to deliver a banger of a racing game for 2020. According to Robert Karp, DIRT 5 Development Director at Codemasters:

“DIRT 5 is a celebration of speed set on some of the toughest terrains in the most stunning global locations. From bustling cities to sprawling off-road destinations, it’s time to let loose and put your foot to the floor. Whether battling through Career, voiced by Troy Baker and Nolan North, competing with friends on the couch or creating the ultimate Playground, there is something for all race fans to enjoy.”

So what does all of that mean? Well, the game will put a lot more focus on a community effort. Creations can be created and hosted in-game by the community and will be playable by anyone. By default, there are 70 course configurations in 10 different locales across the globe. Players can also alter these using the Playgrounds feature.

Players can use Playgrounds to alter and create, share, and discover custom race layouts through various game modes. Each game mode—including choices like Gate Crasher, Smash Attack, and Gymkhana events—will alter the rules a bit. There will be a lot of variation going on here depending on how creative fans can be.

There will be 13 classes of vehicles to pick from, offering a wide array of race types and playstyles. Each car within the class offers a unique driving style with its own stats, and plenty of realistic driving physics. This may well be a rally sim dream when it comes out. Check out all of this and more in the new launch trailer, seen below.

The new game will also feature new modes like RallyCross, a first for the series. Slippery mixtures of road and dirt racing add an exciting new dimension to affairs, but that’s not all that Codemasters has on offer. We’re getting a ton of new tracks in Italy, China, and many other locales. And of course, since there will be next-gen versions of the racing game, folks can expect to see much higher resolutions at buttery smooth framerates.

Gamers looking to juice up with their next racing fix can expect all of this and more when Dirt 5 comes out. Dirt 5 will release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, via Steam, on November 6. The Xbox Series S|X version of the game will be available worldwide a bit later, on November 10. There is a PlayStation 5 port scheduled for certain regions on November 12, and on November 19 for the rest of the world. There is even a Google Stadia version pinned for early 2021.
