Diablo 4 Reliable Leak Reveals Classes, Tone, PvP, Coop

Diablo

Posts on Reddit and other social media have revealed a treasure goblin’s worth of new information about the RPG that literally everyone is waiting on. Blizzard has been holding back on news about this particular game for years, some suspect, but come BlizzCon 2019, the veil will be pulled back entirely. Fans are speculating and leakers are screaming that Blizzard will finally reveal Diablo 4 during the convention.

The leaks come from an unverifiable source, so take everything with a gain of salt. Still, it’s painting a very bleak picture that says Diablo is looking to recapture the imagination of gamers in a whole new way. The franchise is going very dark indeed if these leaks are accurate. The description of the setting alone implies that “is actually going to look dark, gritty, and gross – no more rainbow shiny bullshit this time.” Going further the leaks say that “Loactions [sic] are toned down, infrequently laid with corpses, wasteland, greyish deserts, clut caves surrounded by flesh, rotten crypts,” and all of that is just the beginning. According to other statements, the player will have much more mobility and freedom this time around; as when talking about locations and maps, the leaker says, “They are also seemingly much bigger, maybe even open? Characters now can ride horses (possibly other mounts). Also, there’s contextual interaction with the environment? – Climbing a wall Lost Ark style. Blood splatters look more like blood and not splashed jam too.”

Gameplay is apparently also getting a revival, with the reveal that “4 player coop is there for sure”. Diablo 3 sold a ton of copies on the cooperative aspect of its adventuring, so that’s a good sign. Further adding in stylistic choices for older fans is something else the leaker hints at, saying that, All “this game seems to be is a W I N K to the Diablo 2 fans”. There’s apparently going to be some returning bosses, but details are very vague.

Now I would normally say that all of this should be treated as pure speculation and not worthy of reporting, but the source is actually seemingly credible. The same Reddit account has posted confirmed information about other games like Persona 5 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint, so there may well be some validity here.

And of course, along with Diablo 4, a lot of people are speculating that the trash fire that is Diablo Immortal will also be on the stage at BlizzCon. Blizzard has learned from their mistake, I hope, and will likely push it to a middle section of their announcements. Let’s just hope they don’t spawn more meme-worthy gaffes like last time.
