Detroit: Become Human issues first PC patch

Detroit Become Human Demo

Detroit: Become Human on PC is pretty good. It was built around the arguably the best version of the Quantic Dream formula, but it’s still a great game on its own. The PC version did have some issues though. Crashes have been reported by some users in a variety of circumstances, and now a new patch, aptly named Detroit: Become Human Patch 1 has been released to deal with some of these problems.

For those of you wondering what happened to the PC demo, it was pulled down for a kind of weird reason. It turned out that pirates were able to access the full game files by breaking the restriction on the demo version. This led Quantic Dream to pull the demo down entirely, with a promise to restore it at a later date. As of now, there’s no indication when or if that demo will return.

Being that this is primarily a bug fix update, we’re getting mostly that kind of thing in Detroit: Become Human Patch 1. A handful of rather frequent crashes in some areas have been resolved. These crashes had a few different causes, so Quantic Dream has been diligent in figuring those out and mitigating them. One of the major fixes revolves around an issue with savegames not loading properly for users that used Unicode characters in their Windows usernames. Quantic Dream has also patched in some error messages for players on older hardware that don’t support needed instruction sets.

Those who want them can find the full Detroit: Become Human Patch 1 patch notes down below. Being that the game is exclusive to the Epic Games Store right now, that client should auto-download the patch on next boot.
