Destiny 2 Umbral Flames guide

What to expect from the Destiny 2: Beyond Light raid

Umbral Flames is a type of Umbral Incursion quest that features in Destiny 2 as part of the ongoing new expansion. The theme of this expansion is multi-part quests, and this one is no different. During the course of the game, you will encounter a variety of multi-part quests that have a bunch of different objectives. Players will often need to use new mechanics introduced within the campaign or wider content of the expansion to complete them.

To complete this quest, you will need to complete the following objectives in Strikes:

  • Solar damage final blows 0/100
  • Champions defeated with Stasis damage 0/10
  • Slowed combatants defeated 0/50

The Stasis objective is best completed by killing enemies with the new Stasis ability and a nice long-range weapon. You’re going to want to get into the new Empire Hunts in Destiny 2 and farm them to get the new weapons, which you will need later. You can do a lot of damage with the Salvation’s Grip grenade launcher, so get it now while you can.

The damage type will change based on your subclass, so make sure you have your Stasis subclass equipped and go to town until you complete the mission objective.

How to slow enemies

The best way to slow enemies in Destiny 2 is to use a special weapon. For this one, you will need to use the Duskfield Grenade. This is not an easy thing to get though, as it takes some work and completing other quests.

To get this you need to do a few things. First, you need to finish the Beyond Light Campaign missions in full. Now you need to talk to the Exo Stranger and get the Born in Darkness Part 1 quest. This is a multi-phase quest as well, with five different tasks involved. Complete each of these to move on. Make sure to read quest descriptions to get the objectives you need to be completed.

Getting the Salvation’s Grip from the Drifter quest chain will actually complete the next phase for you, as you need to fulfill the requirements of the Stasis Prototype quest and get the Salvations Grip Grenade Launcher.

The final step involves using Shatter and Stasis to kill a certain number of enemies within the Born in Darkness Part 2 quest. You need to hunt down Ves mobs all over the moon and take them out, then use their energy to defeat a certain number of enemies in the next phase. You can primarily find Vex in the Nexus, Glassway, Infinitude, Asterion Abyss, and Cadmus Ridge.

This caps off with you defeating the House Salvation platoon in Riis-Reborn Approach. Once you have completed this you will finally have the Genade you need to inflict the slows with the Dusk grenade.
