Destiny 2: The Witch Queen shows off Savathûn’s Throne World

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen Throne World Trailer

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen is the newest expansion coming to Destiny 2 in a few weeks. The game’s new content will take the story forwards, and adds a bunch of new content. With a new trailer, we finally got some insight into what to expect. Guardians will be exploring a dark new location, Savathûn’s Throne World, and trying to figure out what this menace’s nefarious plan is. The new bosses of the expansion will bring a bunch of Hive enemies called Lucent Blood, offering a much stronger form of enemy to fight.

This will just be the beginning as well. The current storyline is just getting started. Further down the line, Bungie also revealed the name of the final expansion in the current Light & Darkness storyline of Destiny 2. These new chapters will follow the same basic premise, adding new storylines and gameplay content.

The newest trailer, which can be seen below, gives players a glimpse of all this. This new planet in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen won’t be something to visit without preparing. It’s pretty spooky according to Bungie’s YouTube writeup: “All that she hides can be found here. Seek the truth and learn that, in this place, mystery makes its home in both the Darkness and the Light.”

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen pulls no punches either, as it’s bringing a lot of new foes to take on. The expansion gives players new tools to deal with these new problems. Gear modding will be a big focus in 2022 and beyond, allowing fans to alter their gear in exciting new ways. You’ll be able to forge weapons with unique combinations of mods, shaders and advanced stats. And yes, that means a new meta-game shift accommodating player power. In fact, full weapon crafting will be in the game for the first time, offering new dimensions to gearing builds.

The expansion was delayed a while back, giving Bungie a bit more time to polish things up. Players will finally get their hands on it next month. Destiny 2: The Witch Queen arrives for Destiny 2 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC on February 22.
