Destiny 2 Succession Guide – Best Succession Sniper Rifle Builds

Succession Sniper Rifle in Destiny 2 Guide

When you’re trying to get the Succession Sniper Rifle, you have a couple of options. Your first choice could be the Deep Stone Crypt. This rifle will drop from the second boss in the Raid, and only has a chance to drop on your first run through the dungeon. This means you will want to focus on finding the various loot chests hidden throughout the raid, including the secret chests. These two secret chests can be found at the end of the jumping puzzle in the Sparrow portion of the map. Each boss clear within that raid will also have loot rolls. Each one has a chance to drop this weapon.

You can also get it by trading in 20 or more Spoils of Victory for a random roll. Run through Deep Stone Crypt and farm these out from the boss encounters. You can get Spoils of Victory in Garden of Salvation and Last Wish as well. So that’s an option if you didn’t get the roll you wanted from the Raid.

Succession Sniper Rifle PvE Best Perks

The Succession Sniper Rifle also isn’t tied to the energy slot, so it doesn’t suffer from that 10% damage penalty compared to Trophy Hunter. This alone puts it into contention for one of the best PvE snipers in the game right now. So with that and its Aggressive Frame archetype in mind, let’s talk about what’s good for this rifle in PvE gameplay. The Succession Sniper Rifle is really helped out by the 15% boost in damage from Vorpal as well. You can deal out tons of damage with this setup, and you get 8-10 rounds with the right setup.

  • Fluted Barrel
  • Tactical Mag or Extended Mag
  • Reconstruction
  • Vorpal Weapon

Fluted Barrel is a must this season when dealing with the need for more accurate shots. Tactical Mag or Extended Mag a must in PvE as you need the extra ammo thanks to being in such a target-rich environment. If you do go this route, you will want Backup Mag and Reconstruction as well. This will slowly reload the weapon over time, in addition to upping the maximum ammo count in the magazine to 5 over the base value of 4.

Reconstruction since it not only refills your magazine while using the weapon, but also boost the ammo count when stowed as well. That mag increase only happens with Extended Mag though, so keep that in mind.

Succession Sniper Rifle PvP Best Perks

Fluted Barrel is a must this season when dealing with the need for recoil reduction in both PvE and PvP. The gamers looking to get in on PvE will want to improve accuracy and DPS against much harder-to-hit targets. This means that having Accurized Rounds will make it much easier to shoot out to insane range. If you’re not engaging at that range, swap to Tactical Mag to get you better ammo usage. Tactical Mag offers a decent boost to stability and reload speed, which are vital when dealing with PvP players.

From there you will want to go for certain primary perks like Moving Target that makes it a lot easier to hit your opponents. You can squeeze off rounds faster than other Guardians if you do it right thanks to the ease of lining up shots. Snapshot Sights also help with ADS speed and make it much easier to put rounds on targets at close range. If you’re bringing a Succession Sniper Rifle into Crucible, you need this.
