There’s a very sad but very interesting quest active now in Destiny 2. Signal Intercepted is part of a new update to Destiny 2 that has some very interesting elements to it. The quest can earn you a free Exotic too, so get going. To start, you need to know where to look. First thing you need to head to Ana Bray on Mars. She has a new quest called Memories of Helsom. This a new quest added to memorialize Matt Helsom, who passed last year at the age of 45 while working at Vicarious Visions.
“We wanted to memorialize his contributions in the Destiny universe,” Bungie shared. “We wish all of his family, friends, and everyone he impacted during his life the very best. Thank you to everyone in the community who joins us in remembering this warm soul.”
So here’s how to engage with this awesome content. Your goal is to find Helsom’s work station.
How to Complete Signal Intercepted
To find Helsom’s work station, land on Mars, and head to Ana Bray. Instead of talking to her, hang a left and head through the building to where Rasputin is. You’re actually diverting before this point though. You need to head from the Braytech Futurescape landing zone first. From there, you will find a bunch of Thrall at the end of a long and narrow corridor. If you get to the Warsats, you went too far.
After defeating them, find the computer terminal nearby. You will know you found the right one when you see a sticky note that says “Hot Dog!,” and a red keyboard. Head through the door and interact with that Terminal. The quest itself contains a nice little story about the character of an in-universe scientist and how the team is trying to honor his memory.
Be aware that the prompt is kind of weird and does not have a sound cue associated with it. So just go and try interacting with it till you get the confirmation. After doing this, head back to Ana Bray and talk to her. At the end of your dialogue, she’ll reward you with an Exotic Cipher. For doing all of this, you get an Exotic Cypher from the quest. Go and turn this into Xur, or at the Cryptarch , for your free item.
