Destiny 2: Forsaken kicks off Season of Opulence

Destiny 2 Season of Opulence Roadmap

So Bungie finally has more news of the upcoming season of Destiny 2 content. Prepare to hunt new treasure in dangerous locales with the kick off of the Season of Opulence. As part of the final rotation for the current Annual Pass, Destiny 2 players will dig deeper into the mysteries surrounding the Cabal Empire.

A big part of this new branch of the game is assembling the Chalice of Opulence. This is the medium through which many of your gear upgrades and new content are unlocked. As players progress through the story, pieces of the Chalice can be combined together and augmented with various upgrades to unlock more treasures or rewards of a certain type. Meta-gaming Chalice construction will certainly be a thing in this new season of content.

Check out the trailer for the new content release down below.

The newest batch of content focuses on the Menagerie of Emperor Calus. This incredibly challenging series of enemy gauntlets will push Guardians pretty hard. And with Destiny 2: Forsaken we’re going to see the wrap-up of the ongoing storylines and the introduction of a new raid, the Crown of Sorrow. This new raid pushes Guardians deep into the bowels of the Leviathan in their hunt for the greatest of rewards.

The Crown of Sorrow will open its doors to players just six hours after the launch of the Season of Opulence. So you better be ready if you’re trying for that world first completion.

A big part of these rewards is of course new Exotic Weapons and Armor, as well as new Pinnacle gear for the Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard setups. You can find a teaser image down below which Bungie released showing off new items like the new Vanguard pinnacle weapon, a grenade launcher called the Windgo GL3. Speaking of exotics, two new quests which unlock the Truth rocket launcher and the Lumina hand cannon will be made available as well. These new elements will drop throughout June and July.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Destiny 2‘s season 7 officially begins June 4th, which means there’s only a few days left for players to wrap up the Season of the Drifter content.
