Destiny 2 Deafening Whisper Guide

How to get the Deafening Whisper Grenade Launcher in Destiny 2

Deafening Whisper is the latest grenade launcher added to Destiny 2 as part of the new Beyond Light expansion. This massive broomstick offers one thing, PvE clearing, and it does it really well. To get the Deafening Whisper, you will need to follow this guide, There’s plenty of options to get it, it’s just that getting the perks you want can be tough. Here’s how to earn the Deafening Whisper and what perks you should aim to get.

How to Get the Deafening Whisper in Destiny 2

You can earn the Deafening Whisper from Crow as a rank reward, or from Wrathborn Hunts. You will need to use a Lure to trigger the hunt that has this weapon listed as a reward. There can be any bosses that drop it, but you must use a Prey Lure that has the item listed. Killing the boss of that hunt will cause the weapon listed to drop, in this case, Deafening Whisper.

Check out the Wrathborn Hunts guide for more details on how that process works.

Best PvE Perks for Deafening Whisper in Destiny 2

  • Volatile Launch
  • High-Velocity Rounds
  • Ambitious Assassin
  • Wellspring or Rampage

Deafening Whisper can roll with Ambitious Assassin, making it an incredibly lethal clearing weapon. Since it can easily take out multiple enemies with one shot, things are very easy when clearing the packs of trash out of your way. You will also want to go for Volatile Launch if you want tons more AoE potential. For most players, it’s probably preferable to go for Volatile Launch.

To keep up your supply of options, you will want to choose Wellspring. Any other DPS boosting option is also good. Wellspring can help you generate tons of energy for your abilities, making it almost perfect for a nice sustain while farming. You could always just go for pure damage though.  Rampage is a good choice for a pure DPS boost.

The actual mag mods for this gun are very limited, so High-Velocity Rounds is the only real choice.

And it’s probably not a good idea to use this in PvP at all, as it doesn’t have the utility and range to work with many maps.
