Days Gone getting New Game+ mode

Days Gone Story Trailer

Days Gone is getting New Game+ mode in a future update, adding a new layer of challenge for experienced adventurers. Jeff Ross, Days Gone’s director has said that this is the thing he’s heard loudest from the fans in terms of what they want out of the game. The new modes don’t stop there either, as two new challenge modes, Hard 2 and Survival 2, will be introduced too. Expect all the different enemies in this open-world adventure to be even more vicious.

The game mode was announced in a post on the PlayStation blog, showing some of the details of the update. Since being announced in 2016, Days Gone has been offering a mixture of zombie action and plenty of open-world adventuring, and with these new game modes it looks like players might come back to play the game again. These updates join the other stables of Challenge content added in previous updates.

To unlock the new mode, any player just has to complete the I’m Never Giving Up main campaign story. And just like any other New Game+ mode, all of the progress will carry over. That means previously earned weapons, bike upgrades, Nero boosters, skills, recipes, encampment trust and credits, collectibles, and Trophy progress will all be dropped into your new game. But to compensate for your increased power, the enemies will also be much tougher.

It’s already hard enough to outrun and otherwise defeat the roaming hordes, and it’s about to get even more difficult. But for that added challenge, there is something more rewarding to be earned, and it’s pretty cool. New trophies are coming to  New Game Plus, Hard II, and Survival II modes to give returning gamer something to attach themselves to.
