Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Darksider II: Deathinitive Edition and Steep are free on Epic

Epic Games Store

The Epic Games Store has been consistently developing their reputation, despite some pretty big missteps early in the life of the storefront. The giveaways of free video games have helped some gamers get over the Epic Games Store’s exclusive chicanery. For those not in the know, Epic has been trying to compete with Valve and their Steam service, primarily through offering free games and timed exclusives. Quite a few anticipated releases have caused controversy after various titles were released exclusively on the platform. Epic has also been slow to add needed features to the store, like a shopping cart, and has yet to update users on when those missing things would be added.

All that considered, why not grab free games if you can. For the next week until January 9th, Darksiders: Warmastered EditionDarksider II: Deathinitive Edition and Steep will be available for free via the Epic store. So if you’re in the mood for action, you’re in luck.

Vigil Games developed both Darksiders: Warmastered Edition and Darksider II: Deathinitive Edition as over-the-top action titles with plenty of bloodshed and flair. The third-person perspective, insane amounts of battle and bloodshed, and apocalyptic visuals certainly tickle the fancy of any fan of the classic God of War games. Players take on the role of the various horsemen of the apocalypse in a titanic struggle to right ancient wrongs and bring those who would exploit the chaos to justice.

Steep is an action game developed by Ubisoft that pushes the user to new heights and new limits. The extreme sports simulator sees players taking on increasingly challenging stunts with skis, wingsuits, snowboards, and paragliders across a massive map. The game is modeled after the Alps, and features some truly death-defying courses and stunts for players to engage in.

To claim the games, visit the Epic Games Store online, or via the launcher and you can grab your free games.

Also, Epic is extending its holiday sale by a week with the launch of the Encore Week. Until January 7th, gamers can grab discounts on many different video games.
