Darksiders Warmastered and Darksiders 2 Deathinitive get Xbox One X support

Darksiders 3

Ahead of the impending launch of Darksiders 3, THQ Nordic is handing the remasters of the original Darksiders games, Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, and Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition support for Xbox One X.

Darksiders: Warmastered Edition already has the patch, and Gunfire Games is working on implementing it for the second game, they estimate that the patch is a couple weeks out from deployment.

Owners of either of these games get these updates for free. And if you don’t have them and want to get easy access, pre-ordering Darksiders 3: Blades & Whip Edition will earn you free copies of both remastered games.

While these games have had PS4 Pro-based improved performance for a while now, it appears that Gunfire Games and THQ Nordic had the updates for Xbox One X pushed to a back burner to focus on the newest game in the franchise, which is a good sign. Hopefully all this work translates to a better game when the new iteration lands on store shelves.

THQ Nordic has been on a promo blitz ahead of the launch of the newest big title, even sponsoring several YouTube channels to highlight the older games in the franchise to drum up hype.

Darksiders 3 releases November 27 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
