Two post-launch DLC packs planned for Darksiders III

Darksiders 3

THQ Nordic and Gunfire Games have announced their plans for DLC in Darksiders III.

For the uninitiated, Darksiders III tells the story of Fury, one of the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Fury will battle their way through legions of demonic, undead and other enemies over the course of the game, and it will all be pretty challenging. Gunfire Games have said that this will be the most challenging game in the franchise, so you better get ready. One such example is the Charred Council, the super-powerful balancing force between good and evil, a force which Fury will probably come to blows with.

Luckily you’ll have some help in the form of Fury’s multiple combat abilities, including their various Hollow forms that allow players to deal different types of damage, and making them highly resistant to damage as well.

In terms of the actual DLC, there’s two pieces, called The Crucible and Keepers of the Void respectively. Keepers of the Void will follow Fury as they travel through a dimension known as the Serpent Holes, doing battle with the vicious denizens of the dark within. The Crucible will implement a wave-based arena mode that allows players to battle huge swarms of different types of enemies in a test of skill and stamina. Both DLC packs will contain special rewards that can be earned upon completion of the challenges contained within.

Official descriptions of both add-on packs are as follows.

The Crucible

Fury’s presence has been requested by a strange entity wishing to test her skills in battle.  Never one to back down from a challenge, Fury accepts the invitation and gains access to a location known only as the Crucible.  Here Fury will fight wave after wave of enemies, competing for a chance to unlock new rewards and items.

Keepers of the Void

On a quest from Vulgrim, Fury must travel into the Serpent Holes to remove an ancient threat that resides there.  The Serpent Holes are riddled with new puzzles and enemies eager to test Fury’s abilities. If Fury prevails, she will unlock all new weapon from the Hollows, as well as the biggest prize of them all: The Abyssal Armor.

We don’t have details like a release window for these DLC yet, so we’ll just have to wait for that stuff to be released. Fortunately we do know when the game itself will be out, so we can expect the DLC a few months after that date. Darksiders III is slated to release next month on November 27 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
