Dark Souls Remastered announced for PC with improvements

Dark Souls Remaster

Forget the Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition, there’s a new bully in town when it comes to Souls fans on the PC. Bandai Namco has finally announced Dark Souls Remastered for the PC. This puts an end to years of fan speculation on the subject.

This new announcement also comes on the same week as a $450 trilogy box set gets announced for Japanese markets. It includes Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin, and Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition.

Along with the discs, it contains a bookcase which when put together looks like a statue of sorts. It also comes with an item encyclopedia, and 10 pieces of art work and an image frame.

The Dark Souls Trilogy Box Set releases in Japan on May 24, and hasn’t been announced for the west as of press time.

But lets get back to the remake. This new updated version will take players back to Lordran but this time with more bells and whistles. Players can expect 4K resolution and 60FPS on the PC. Which means the fan-made mods that include performance and quality optimizations should no longer be needed.

The Dark Souls Remastered release date has been set for 25 May and we urge you to pick this up if you want to see it in its full glory. It’s a great game. Lets hope they include some form of built-in anticheat for the sake of PvP this time around. Check out the trailer below.
