During the Playstation special State of Play livestream event earlier this week, Sony and a cadre of developers revealed news about upcoming and newly released titles for the Playstation brand. Many announcements about DLC, expansions and of course new games abounded in the festival of gaming news and gameplay trailers.
This particular trailer, which joins the many other released for the game, shows off the special skins that will included with the PS4 release of the racing game. The PS4 skins will draw inspiration from the 32-bit style of the old game. The new skins are cosmetic-only, and will apply to the playable characters, such as Crash, CoCo, and Doctor Neo Cortex and more.
Since the game was announced last year at the Video Game Awards, this particular remaster of a beloved kart racer has been the subject of a lot of hype. Activision has really been pumping a lot of life into the older Playstation franchises over the last couple of years, so Crash Team Racing coming back is a real treat for fans, but excited fans do have a few options to tide themselves over to the release of this new game. In addition to Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, developer Toys for Bob, alongside Activision, released Spyro Reignited Trilogy in November 2018.

There is of course some more good news for fans with this new spate of trailers. It has been confirmed that all of the original content from the retro title will be coming to this new version. Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will include racers, tracks and game modes from the original CTR.
The new version of the 1999 classic will bring a complete graphical overhaul to the track. But that’s not all, there’s a new roster of playable and NPC racers coming to the starting line as well. A bunch of new tracks and game modes will drop with this remaster as well. The gameplay has been streamlined and polished too, blitzing past your friends in skidding around the track has never been more fun.
Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled will release on June 21st, 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
