Crackdown 3 Won’t Support Playing With Friends in Wrecking Zone at Launch

Crackdown 3 Release Date Announced

Crackdown 3 is finally going to get its full release later this week, after years of waiting by fans. But a new announcement has some fans scratching their heads.

As part of the recent stress test for the mulitplayer in the game, players noticed that it was impossible to create parties with their friends and then join a mulitplayer queue in the Wrecking Zone mode. People immediately took the internet looking for answers, and got the answer they were dreading.

Joseph Staten, Senior Creative Director at Microsoft Studios, Crackdown 3’s Wrecking Zone multiplayer game mode will not allow you to team up with friends — at least, not at first launch. A post on the game’s official Discord (spotted by Branflakes222) by a user named MSFT Crackdown clarified this detail to fans, disappointing many.

The developers are apparently planning some post-launch updates, it’s a distinct possibility that tweaks like adding in party support are on the docket for changes and additions, we’ll just need to wait and see.

So despite all of the hype and build-up surrounding this particular title, it appears that there’s at least one  relatively annoying oversight. One would think that these kinds of issues and lacking features would have been polished off ahead of launch, especially a launch that has been delayed a fair bit like Crackdown 3, but I guess not. Let’s just hope that the game lives up to the massive hype surrounding the property, after all,  it’s had years to build up a great gameplay experience, so it should be fine. At least that’s the hope.

Crackdown 3 launches on PC and Xbox One this Friday, February 15.
